An ambulance driver, who preferred to remain anonymous, called into James O’Brien’s LBC radio show to express his fears for the future of Patient Transport Service.
This comes after the Patient Transport Service, who transport vulnerable patients to and from hospital appointments, had been bought out by a private company.
Showing clear emotion, the caller said:
“I’ve got colleagues in the south whose services have been taken over by private companies and they’ve got no level of patient care, right down to the uniform.
“I’m worried that if PTS is taken over, will blue light also be taken over in the future? It’s a scary prospect.”
