Oxford University Clinic and US healthcare provider opening private clinic

In 2017 the Oxford University Clinic – including Oxford University and Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust working in partnership– collaborated with the Mayo Clinic, in putting forward the idea to open a private clinic in an attempt to motivate medical research. They claim the new clinic will feature private screening and diagnostics-to be launched in Portland Place, London in September. The organisations hold that earnings will be invested into research, teaching and clinical care, despite no expectations to “see returns immediately”.
